A 70-year-old woman visited our hospital for evaluation of dull pain over 3-4 weeks on the radial side of her right wrist. To visualize the lesion, an ultrasound (10-MHz linear probe) was performed. A well-defined, 1.0 × 0.8 × 1.6 cm, fusiform cystic lesion with prominent compressible and hypoechoic rim caused by peritendinous effusion inside the tendon sheath of the right 1st dorsal extensor compartment was noted around the base of the thumb on the transverse and longitudinal images (Figure 1 and Video 1).
