Lamotrigine (LTG) is prescribed for bipolar disorder and epilepsy. Oral contraceptives (OCs) containing estrogen may reciprocally decrease the concentration of LTG. We present a case of a female patient with bipolar I disorder with prolonged time to remission due to difficulty maintaining optimal serum concentrations of LTG.
