Languages other than English represent an ever-growing component of the tapestry of the United States. Studies have shown that language barriers can impact access to care and quality of care, particularly in specialty clinics. Given the additional challenges faced by language interpretation in pediatric settings, the field of pediatric dermatology is uniquely positioned to contribute meaningfully to improving care for families with limited English proficiency.
