Dear Editor, First described in 1996 as “transient reactive papulo-translucent acrokeratoderma,” this rare condition was then variously named according to its peculiar clinical appearance, such as “aquagenic syringeal acrokeratoderma,” “aquagenic palmoplantar keratoderma,” or “transient aquagenic palmar hyperwrinkling.”1-11 The acquired form of aquagenic keratoderma (AAK) usually affects young women, and its pathogenesis has yet to be elucidated.
