The recent Morioka consensus conference [1] and a subsequent expert panel statement published by Han et al [2] suggest that the laparoscopic approach for donor left lateral sectionectomy (LLLS) should be the standard of care for pediatric donors. However, its adoption has been reserved in many transplant centers due to concerns of donor morbidity and the steep learning curve.
