Galactose deficient IgA1 (Gd-IgA1) plays an important role in the pathogenesis of IgA nephropathy (IgAN)1 . Immunofluorescence (IF) staining of KM55, a Gd-IgA1 specific monoclonal antibody, becomes an easy and reliable tool to detect Gd-IgA1 deposited in glomerular mesangium of IgAN.
