Mackinnonia Runnegar in Bengtson et al., 1990 (with the type species M. davidi Runnegar in Bengtson et al., 1990), a generic name of Cambrian mollusks (Bengtson et al., 1990) is preoccupied. It was used earlier by Janiszewska (1963) for the genus of parasitic protists (Sporozoa,1 Coccidiasina) Mackinnonia Janiszewska, 1963 (with the type species M. tubificis Janiszewska, 1963). In accordance with the ICZN (1999, art. 60.3), for the junior homonym, I introduce here a new substitute name Davidonia nom. nov. The genus is named after New Zealand paleontologist David MacKinnon. I am thankful to professor Bruce Runnegar for his kind permission to correct the homonymy. REFERENCES
