A method for measurement of low-molecular weight compounds adsorption from solutions in liquefied gases and supercritical fluids based on the online coupling of high-pressure autoclave and supercritical fluid chromatograph has been proposed and tested. This method has been shown to be applicable to determine sorption capacity and to plot isotherms for adsorption of low-molecular weight compounds from solutions in supercritical carbon dioxide onto surface of silica xerogels and aerogels. The method provides the application of xerogels and aerogels as carriers for targeted drug delivery and controlled release.
