A praseodymium stannate sample, Pr2Sn2O7, was synthesized by ceramic route (solid-phase reaction of oxides) at high temperature and characterized by X-ray diffraction analysis, X-ray fluorescence analysis, and scanning electron microscopy. The heat capacity measurements by adiabatic and differential scanning calorimetry in the temperature range 7.9–1345 K made it possible to calculate the temperature dependences of the thermodynamic functions of Pr2Sn2O7. The magnetization of praseodymium stannate was studied in the temperature range 2–300 K. The enthalpy of formation and the Gibbs free energy of formation of Pr2Sn2O7 were estimated. The shape of the anomalous Schottky heat capacity curve was determined.
