Abstract The structure and the mechanical properties of low-carbon Fe–Cr–Ni maraging steels with molybdenum and titanium additives that were measured during static and cyclic deformation are studied in comparison with the structure and the mechanical properties of an austenitic–martensitic steel of the same alloying system. The mechanisms of fatigue crack nucleation and propagation are investigated by fractographic analysis.
