An analysis of the integral Boltzmann equation to determine the electron distribution function in a weak electric field and its solution are presented. The solution based on a simple model of electron collisions with neutral particles of a gas is compared with the well-known solution of the corresponding approximate differential Fokker–Planck equation. The essential difference between the two approaches is manifested in the behavior of the electron distribution function at electron velocities comparable with the thermal velocity of the atoms of the gas. As a result of the calculations carried out, kernels of the integral Boltzmann equations necessary for solving similar problems of physical kinetics and others have been determined within the model of collisions accepted.
