This paper presents an original analytical calculation of the linear polarization degree of Hα lines caused by anisotropic protons during solar flares, when the temperature of thermal protons in the solar chromosphere is higher than the temperature of thermal electrons. The dependences of the linear polarization degree on the parameters of the distribution function of thermal and nonthermal protons during solar flares are analyzed. Flare plasma diagnostics are discussed.
