Comparison of the catalytic activities of copper, copper‒chromium, and copper‒zirconium on activated carbon fiber systems was carried out. Component distribution and phase constitution of the catalysts were investigated by XRD and SEM. The copper-supported catalyst proved to be the most selective for the dehydrogenation of ethanol to form acetaldehyde, while the copper‒chromium-supported catalyst was shown to be more active above 300°С.

Keywords: dehydrogenation; bicomponent catalysts; chemistry; copper; catalysts ethanol; ethanol dehydrogenation
