Abstract The reactions of alkyl-3-nitroacrylates with semicarbazide as representative of polynitrogen nucleophiles proceeds at room temperature in a solution of glacial acetic acid and leads to aza-Michael adducts. Their structure was proved by 1 H, 13 C{ 1 H} NMR and IR spectroscopy methods.
