For the kinetics of the mass transfer process in the Onsager form, the problems about the order of separation of a multicomponent mixture, minimizing the energy consumption in processes of the given productivity, and the optimal distribution of the mass transfer surfaces (apparatus size) between the separation stages in systems using mechanical or electrical energy are considered. An algorithm for choosing the order of separation and calculation formulas for the optimal distribution of the contact areas are obtained. The concept of the reduced concentrations of components and fractions is introduced as the ratio of their concentrations to the square root of the specific permeability coefficients. An example of the calculation is given.
