Abstract— The article substantiates a methodology for studying solidaritization. It is proved that the object of research should include four elements: identification, solidaritization, consolidation, and integration. Each of these elements simultaneously acts as a process and as a phenomenon that can be recorded. As a process, each of the elements develops independently and can be the basis for another process, but it cannot “grow” into another state. The concepts “positive solidarization” and “nonconstructive solidarization” are introduced and a formula is proposed for calculating the corresponding indices. Based on the results of seven empirical studies, the productivity of the proposed methodology is verified, which reveals the status and development of a number of regional communities. Empirical objects in the research were residents of Novosibirsk and Krasnoyarsk. This provided an additional opportunity to compare the processes of solidaritization in two comparable and often competing communities and formulate assumptions regarding probably changes in them in the near future.
