A healthy 15-year-old girl presented with a 4-year history of a linear patch of alopecia and a sunken-in appearance of the left side of the face. Physical examination showed a 6.0×1.5 cm hypopigmented, atrophic, hairless patch extending longitudinally from the forehead into the left frontal scalp and significant atrophy of the left temple and cheek (figure 1).
