A request by the BMA to suspend the president of the World Medical Association pending a resolution of corruption charges by a court in Delhi has been rejected. The BMA wrote to the world body calling for the suspension of Ketan Desai, who took up the two year post in October 2016. The letter has not been seen by The BMJ , but a BMA spokesperson said, “The BMA wrote to the WMA raising concerns about the position of Dr Desai, and calling for the suspension of his authority.
