An associate specialist in orthopaedics and part time out-of-hours GP has been suspended from the UK medical register for a month after he admitted to certifying 127 taxi drivers as fit to drive a cab without seeing their medical records. Bimal Singh assessed prospective taxi drivers in Hartlepool and Middlesbrough over a nine month period, a task normally undertaken by the driver’s own GP.
