Action is being planned in Scotland to restrict supermarkets promoting unhealthy foods as part of a series of measures aimed at reducing obesity levels. The Scottish government is also calling on the UK parliament to ban broadcasters advertising foods high in fat, sugar, and salt at times when they can be seen by children. If this is unsuccessful, Scotland will seek such powers to be devolved to the Scottish parliament. The plans are set out in a consultation document1 …
