A BMA investigation has found that private consultancy firms have been paid hundreds of thousands, and in some cases millions, of pounds by the NHS to support the reorganisation of services. A Freedom of Information request sent by the BMA got 30 responses from the 44 Sustainability and Transformation Partnerships (STPs) and Integrated Care Systems (ICS) that work across England. The information requested was also already available from a further nine organisations.
