Introducing a 50p (€0.56; $0.69) minimum unit price for alcohol in Wales would reduce deaths and hospital admissions related to alcohol, as well as crimes and work absences associated with drinking, an analysis has found.1 The move would be most effective in curbing alcohol consumption among the most harmful drinkers, it said.
