A High Court judge has ordered a doctor who performed aesthetic procedures in the private sector to be struck off the UK medical register after quashing an “illogical and flawed” medical practitioners’ tribunal decision to suspend him for 12 months. Mrs Justice Lambert said that the tribunal’s decision in March 2018 “made no sense” and allowed the General Medical Council’s appeal against it. She said this was one of the rare cases where the correct result was so clear that a judge need not send the case back to a tribunal to take the decision again, but could substitute the court’s own decision on sanction.
