To the Editor I read with great interest the report of Adamson.1 The authors investigated the long-term cardiovascular death in relation to serial convalescent high-sensitivity cardiac troponin I (hs-cTn) concentrations in patients with acute coronary syndrome. The cut-off values of hs-cTn were set as >16 ng/L in women and >34 ng/L in men, respectively. Adjusted HR of hs-cTn for cardiovascular death was 1.4 (95% CI 1.3 to 1.5).
