Introduction/Background Endometrial cancer is a fourth most common of female cancer and its prevalence tend to increase in the last decade especially in developing countries. It is important to gain the knowledge of endometrial cancer pathogenesis and metastasis in order to reduce the morbidity and mortality of this disease. L1 cell adhesion molecule (L1CAM) is a glycoprotein transmembrane that plays an important role in neurogenesis, regulation of cell-to-cell interaction, cell adhesion and migration. In cancer, L1CAM has been related to cell motility, invasion and metastasis. β-catenin is a protein coded by CTNNB1 gene in Wnt pathway, and it is important in cell proliferation, differentiation, and metastasis. Methodology We analyzed 49 tissue samples of endometrial type endometrial carcinoma by immunostaining using monoclonal antibody of L1CAM and β-catenin. The statistical test was perfomed between L1CAM expression score, β-catenin expression score, miometrial depth of invasion, lymphovascular invasion, and lymphnodes invasion. Results We found that there was a significant correlation between L1CAM expression, β-catenin expression, and miometrial depth of invasion, lymphovascular invasion, lymphnodes invasion (p<0.05) of endometrioid endometrial carcinoma. Conclusion This study found that L1CAM and β-catenin are important marker of invasion and metastasis of endometrioid endometrial carcinoma. Disclosure Nothing to disclose.
