Collishaw1 outlines a proposal to set strict limits on cigarette emission at levels which will effectively prohibit all combusted cigarettes, leaving only heat not burn (HnB) cigarettes in the market. It would limit toxicant levels of 38 chemicals set 2 SD above the higher mean of independent tests of two HnB products: British American Tobacco’s Glo and Philip Morris International’s iQos. He provides a useful table of observed values which shows the magnitude and variability of the toxicant reductions this proposal would achieve.
