Solitons are stable solutions of integrable nonlinear equations of two types: Korteweg–de Vries and Nonlinear Sr $$\ddot{o}$$ dinger equation. They are very well established in photonics and plasma physics but very poorly in the astrophysical environment. The aim of this paper is to list and describe already derived equations and solutions in nonlinear regime, to discuss advantages of these solutions in each case and to point out possible improvement of these solution in order to apply them on several astrophysical systems and eventually to resolve some open questions.
