386 to include activities that may not strike everyone as illicit. “Today, many patients, perhaps most, Google their analysts simply to check out their credentials or to conjecture if they would be a good match” (p. xxxiv). She then states that several of her patients have confessed, or simply disclosed without guilt, that they “web-stalked” her, aided by Google. Such internet investigations are now so common that it may be impossible to separate legitimate research from stalking. The value of Stalker, Hacker, Voyeur, Spy is that it warns of bedeviling problems we cannot yet fully imagine.
