diversity of theoretical approaches in practice, to the detriment of the client. Given that the perspectives delivered in this text honour the complexities of occupation and its transaction with person and environment, it is curious that the authors seemingly equate a monist approach to being a common occurrence in occupational therapy (i.e., a major philosophy) and analogous to occupation-centred practice, excluding the accepted best practice to use a diversity of generic and specific theories to address occupational issues. Despite some of the strengths of this text, it would not be a first recommendation, particularly for non-Americans, due to its prevalent American perspective and overattention to arguable paradoxes and tensions.
