With his assumption of the editorship of the Food and Nutrition Bulletin, Dr Noel Solomons is further recognized for his impactful leadership in Global Nutrition Science and Policy. His influence on the field has been amply demonstrated by his own prodigious record of publication. His influence has been even more notable on the careers of scientists from developed and developing countries who have been drawn to his mentorship at CeSSIAM, in Guatemala, which he founded and which has become a leading research institution in the expanding field of global nutrition. He has of course served on many committees and councils that have defined the dimensions of the current field of global nutrition. I am particularly proud to add my congratulations and gratitude for his strong contributions to the FNB since he was appointed associate editor in 2011. In addition to his service to our own journal, he has served on no fewer than 22 journal editorial boards and so brings remarkable experience to his position. I eagerly anticipate working under his leadership in the coming years to move forward the journal’s original goals in advancing nutrition science in developing countries and in building their capacity for science and its influence on policy. To quote a popular Middle Eastern motto: “from strength to strength.”
