With the expanding application areas of polyoxymethylene (POM), the challenges in its crystal modification are becoming greater. Conventional nucleating agents have issues with compatibility with POM. So we used a nucleating agent L with a similar molecular chain structure to POM through melt blending to modify POM. Using instruments to characterize and test the samples, and studying the effect of nucleating agent L on the structure and properties of POM. The results showed that after adding a small amount of nucleating agent. The crystal size was reduced. The number and size of micro-pores at the cross-section were significantly reduced. The crystallization performance of POM were improved. This provides a new direction for the future development of POM-specific nucleating agents and the direction of efficient nucleating.
