Our 3D-reconstructed image from computerised tomographic (CT) peritoneography depicts a peritoneal dialysis (PD) catheter entrapment in a sizeable abdominal compartment in a PD patient presenting with acute ultrafiltration failure. The diagnosis of this case was challenging since the manifestation resembled peritoneal membrane dysfunction with expected dialysate inflow and outflow rates and normal catheter tip alignment and location by plain abdominal radiography. CT peritoneography with 3D reconstruction aids in diagnosis and allows picturing the location and size of the peritoneal compartment. A diagnosis of impaired ultrafiltration (UF) caused by peritoneal dialysis (PD) catheter entrapment is challenging with routine diagnostic tests but can succeed with a 3D-reconstructed computerised tomographic (CT) peritoneography, as presented here. A was with and UF for despite utilising % dextrose bags.
