Photomicrographs of yttrium-90 selective internal radiation therapy–induced chronic (A) and acute cholecystitis with mucosal erosion (B) and the presence of characteristic spherical black microspheres. Mild epithelial atypia is seen (C). Intravascular (D) as well as extravascular (E) microspheres are identified in association with a mixed inflammatory infiltrate composed of lymphocytes, plasma cells, eosinophils, and histiocytes (F; hematoxylin-eosin stain; ×100 [A], ×40 [B], and ×200 [C-F]).
