Dear Editor, I read the article by Elubuos et al. with great interest. In contrast to their study, which focused on the period between 2011 and 2020, the current study of the literature on teleophthalmology had no lower time limit and included relevant publications from 1996 to 2021. Therefore, the readership may find the following brief overview of the study results a valuable addition to the article published by Elubuos and colleagues. First, an advanced search within titles only (for a higher specificity)2–4 of all records published until 2021 was performed in Web of Science Core Collection (Clarivate) on 2 May 2022 using the following search query:

Keywords: scientific literature; teleophthalmology using; literature; analysis scientific; literature teleophthalmology

Journal Title: European Journal of Ophthalmology
Year Published: 2023
