Subacute cutaneous lupus erythematosus is a subtype of cutaneous lupus erythematosus characterized clinically with papulosquamous and/or annular polycyclic lesions on sunexposed areas, which typically resolve without scarring. Although the fifth decade is the average age of onset, it is occasionally seen in childhood. In the differential diagnosis of the annular lesions, dermatophytosis, granuloma annulare, erythema annulare centrifugum, and other annular lesions are considered, whereas papulosquamous lesions may mostly be confused with eczema and psoriasis.
