Five samples of the nylon fabric laminated rubber bearing were manufactured with different rubber layer thickness and nylon cloth specifications. The compression and compression shear tests were conducted to evaluate the mechanical properties of the bearings. Results show the novel bearings’ vertical stiffness is significantly lower than that of laminated steel rubber bearings, but their vertical damping ratio can reach 7%. The effective horizontal stiffness decreases with increasing shear strain due to rollover deformation. The bearings do not get seriously damaged when the shear strain is 300%. The equivalent damping ratio of the bearings varies in the range of 9%–13%.
