Due to the scarcity of petroleum fuel, the researchers have paid their attention to find the alternative fuels. The biodiesels may be the best choice among different available alternative fuels as these fuels gives better performance and less emission of the green house gases. For getting the better performance on biodiesel, the testing as well as optimum parameter for better performance is required to be found. Keeping these facts in mind, this study has been carried out. This study shows the effects of different process parameters such as compression ratio, biodiesel percentage and the injection pressure on the performance parameter such as brake thermal efficiency, specific fuel consumption and exhaust gas emission. The tests were performed on the four stroke single cylinder CI engine on the double biodiesel blends of Soyabean and Karana by using the experimental design of L16. The statistical method has been used to find the mathematical relation among the different variables and responses. The developed model shows very good adequacy and prediction ability of different performances. The optimization has been carried out by using the well known Taguchi methodology and optimization results suggest the best combination for getting the better performance. The optimum parameter setting for maximum values of brake thermal efficiency has been found as 20% blends, 16 compression ratios and 230 bar of injection pressure
