Chyluria is described as the presence of chyle in the urine and was initially recognised by Hippocrates, Galen and Pheophile.1 It is classified into parasitic (more commonly lymphatic filariasis) and non-parasitic (very rare). To the best of our knowledge, we describe the first case of a conservatively managed patient presenting with acute urinary retention secondary to idiopathic non-parasitic chyluria.
