Rationale: New-onset asthma in adults often starts following a specific trigger. It is unknown whether these triggers affect different patients and are associated with different asthma outcomes. Aim: to investigate the association between triggers of asthma onset, patient characteristics and asthma remission rates. Methods: 200 adults with recently diagnosed ( Results: Table 1 shows the 5 most reported triggers, discriminating patient characteristics (p Conclusion: Characteristics of patients with new-onset asthma differ according to the trigger that seemingly elicited the disease. These triggers were associated with different asthma remission rates.
