Objetive: Analyze reduction of exacerbations, admissions, use of oral corticosteroids(OCS), asthma control(ACT), side effects following treatment with Omalizumab(O), Mepolizumab(M) and Benralizumab(B) and their comorbidities in patients with effectiveness of biological treatment in SADC. Material and Method: Analysis of medical history, pulmonary functional tests and specific database of patients who have received biological treatment for SADC since 2007. Results: 150 SADC patients received biological therapy(145→ O, 21→ M, 18→ B). Biological treatment was suspendedin 38 cases for non-efficacy, 22 for side effects and 24 for after a 5 yeartreatment re-evaluation. It was reintroduced in 18 cases; same one(O-O) in 5 and different in 10(5 O→ M; 5 O→ B). 3 patients received all 3 drugs progressively. Biological treatments decreased annual exacerbations from 4.1 to 1.6, a difference of 2.5(95% CI: 1.28-3.68); 3.9 to 1.7 in O, 5.6 to 2.3 in M and2.7 to 0.25 in B. Need ofOCS has been decreased from 8.4 to 1.5 cycles/year, with a difference of 6.8(0.34-13.3); 10.3 to 1.8 in O, 3 to 1.2 in M and2.1 to 0.3 in B. Asthma control has been improved by 3.7 points(12.02-15.7); 12.1 to 15.2 in O, 10.7 to 16.3 in M and 14.2 to 17.5 in B.There were 72 side effects. Most common were digestive intolerance(14), tiredness(9), headaches(7), itching(6), angioedema(3), arthromyalgia(3) and anaphylaxis(2). 143 comorbidities were recorded, most common ORL(72), Psychological/Psychiatric(36) and gastroesophageal reflux(15), usually associated. Conclusions: Biological treatments are effective in SADC and are well tolerated.Comorbidities are common in the SADC.We have to keep learning about biological therapies to improve their use.
