In their single-center retrospective cohort of 119 patients with intracerebral hemorrhage, Dr. Buletko et al. described their observations following an institutional change in blood pressure (BP) protocol from a systolic BP goal of <160 mm Hg to <140 mm Hg. With more aggressive BP control, a higher proportion of patients experienced a neurologic worsening of 4+ points on the NIH Stroke Scale and a higher incidence rate of acute infarcts on MRI.
