I read with interest the study by Tsivgoulis et al.,1 which summarizes the available evidence on prolonged cardiac monitoring after stroke. However, I think that the decision to look at recurrent stroke as the primary outcome and only consider intracranial hemorrhage (ICH) as a safety outcome might overestimate the benefit of prolonged monitoring.
