Pseudomyxoma peritonei (PMP) is a rare disease for which the only curative option is complete cytoreductive surgery (CRS) associated with hyperthermic intraperitoneal chemotherapy (HIPEC). Some patients are not fit for surgery because of deep involvement of at-risk regions, such as hepatic pedicle, mesenteric root, and diffuse small bowel involvement. Non-resectability criteria can be assessed on preoperative imaging, but require a radiologist with vast experience. The aim of this study was to develop and evaluate a new simple radiologic score (RS) based on the peri-hepatic thickness of tumor burden on preoperative computed tomography (CT) for patients with PMP undergoing CRS and HIPEC.
