A blue photoluminescent nano boehmite was prepared by a solvothermal reaction of aluminum hydroxide gel in monoethanolamine (MEA) at a low temperature of 120 °C for 6 h; it shows a photoluminescence emission at 420 nm with excitation of 360 nm that is attributed to the formation of the carbamate derivative of MEA.
