Abstract:This special issue is dedicated to the memory of Xavier Bisaro (June 21, 1972–June 17, 2018). Bisaro was professor of musicology at the Université François Rabelais de Tours, a research fellow at the Centre d'Études Supérieures de la Renaissance, and a junior member of the Institut Universitaire de France. His work was principally dedicated to the study of music and liturgy in the early modern period. His most recent project was "Cantus Scholarum: Le chant scolaire dans l'Europe moderne," https://www.cantus-scholarum.univ-tours.fr/#.
