A 65-year-old woman with κ light chain myeloma in partial remission experienced clinically significant toxicity related to her chemotherapy. When chemotherapy was discontinued her serum free κ light chain concentration increased, resulting in a free κ/free λ ratio greater than 27.75 (reference interval 0.58–2.24).
