. With the help of multimedia technology, packaging design can be integrated with rich elements such as sound, animation, and video, which greatly enhances the sensory appeal and interactivity of packaging. This paper aims to study the innovative use of computer-aided design (CAD) in the packaging field, especially in the combination of multimedia sensing technology and virtual reality (VR) technology. By introducing multimedia sensing technology, this paper realizes efficient identification and classification of packaging patterns. This paper delves into the prospects of employing VR in packaging design, specifically in simulating packaging effects and user interactions within authentic settings. The findings reveal that this approach offers distinct benefits, including boosting design efficiency and elevating user engagement and satisfaction. This study paves the way for the digitalization and intelligent advancement of the packaging design sector, thereby fostering its sustainable progress. Moving forward, we aim to integrate and apply CAD and VR technologies in packaging design further to cater to the growing market needs.
