The obesity in early childhood and in the adolescence has acquired epidemic sizes worldwide and it is the most widespread chronic metabolic disorder these days with extremely serious health consequences. According to World Health Organization Bulgaria is in fifth place by the frequency of children with overweight. Many complications, following obesity, further damage to the health status are significant problems for the rehabilitation of our little patients. Fitball is a physical therapy method which opens new possibilities for reducing the weight and keeping it within normal limits due to its advantages: multifunctional and accessibility for children on top of easy and fun exercise. This technique helps to build a healthy way of living and from early childhood, it gives an opportunity to pass all earned skills from one patient to another through working in small groups. This article aims to show the possibilities of fitball as part of the whole management of obesity in child’s age.
