Engaging students with immediate feedback demonstrates improvement in student learning and success. There are both high-tech and low-tech strategies to enhance student engagement and learning. The study focuses on the effectiveness of clickers and response cards. The effectiveness of clickers in the classroom is done by implementing the device in operations management (OM) classes. Clickers are very effective with the exception of a few drawbacks. Response cards are limited in capabilities but are effective for immediate feedback and student engagement. Since the use of response cards in higher education is almost non-existent, this study fills the gap and proposes more studies.
