The fi ndings of this prospective randomized crossover study suggest that wearing a face mask does not have serious effects on oxygenation and cardiovascular hemodynamics in patients with mild to moderate COPD. Thus, the protective bene fi ts of wearing masks with regard to infection prevention appear to outweigh the risks
